I am a barber, and an enthusiastic one. In Moravská Třebová I run POKY Barbers’ Studio – a barbershop where men are cut by women, to prove that hairdressing is “just” a service, but barbering — that is a ritual. What makes the difference between our barbershop and a hairdresser’s or a barber’s shop is my work – and I love it.

I taught myself barbering from 2016, from videos; then came a requalification, courses in hair care and barbering, and a placement with Marek Melichárek – lecturer at Caponeli Academy in Olomouc, winner of Barber Battle CZ/SK 2023 (Freestyle) and 2024 (Beard) and runner-up in the Beard category in 2025. Much of how I work today comes from him – and I am grateful for it.

For years I gathered inspiration in many men’s studios I admire and put it together into my own complete care. Care that gives the client more than groomed hair and a tidy beard: it gives you time for yourself. Time for your calm. A counterbalance to your hurried days. VeraBarbera is my personal brand and, at the same time, the benchmark for the quality of such care. It is a clearly described public promise of quality to my clients.

The VeraBarbera level of quality

The VeraBarbera standard is a level of quality, not a service: a commitment to how you are looked after – diagnosis, a ritual divided into phases, a welcome drink, Hot Towel, detail and, to finish, the master’s signature. Always by appointment, never in a queue. I will never rush you to get to the next client.

This level has two tiers. The Standard tier: seven phases, the concentrated essence of true barbering. The Kompletka tier (Complete Care): thirteen phases, the full ritual, no compromises. Same quality, different scope – the cut is equally good in both tiers; the only difference is how much care I add around it.

This standard was born at home. When I cut my husband’s hair, I kept adding further details to the care, until it grew into a complete barbering service of maximum scope and the highest quality, with the emphasis on the client’s overall satisfaction. The name “VeraBarbera standard” was given to it by my husband. When I decided to open a barbershop, I took this highest tier as the starting point – that is Kompletka (Complete Care). At the same time I let clients enjoy the same quality of care in a smaller scope – that is Standard. In POKY Barbers’ Studio I began, for the first time, to offer this level of quality publicly to clients who seek this kind of care.

POKY Barbers’ Studio

A barbershop in Moravská Třebová, K. Čapka 129/5. The studio’s motto: “Men are cut by women here. A woman’s eye for detail — a man’s style without compromise.” Scissor and clipper cut, straight razor, hot towel (Hot Towel), hair wash and head massage, styling, fragrance – and a drink goes without saying. Every appointment has its own time, and that time is yours.

POKY Head Spa

I am preparing a sister studio, POKY Head Spa, opening on 1 November 2026. A head spa is revitalising and relaxing care for the hair and scalp – a complement to ladies’ hairdressing care, intended mainly for women. A calmer pace, care and time for yourself. I do not offer ladies’ hairdressing itself yet.
